Harrie Klingenberg has worked at Wagenborg Nedlift for 20 years. During the past five years, he has been active in job preparation and as a project manager. This was also his role during the construction project of the new Wildlands Adventure Zoo in Emmen (NL).
The new Trogbrücke in Emden replaces an old railway bridge which is not meeting modern railway traffic standards anymore. The new railway bridge is 8.80 meters wide (2.60 meters wider than the previous bridge) and gives access to modern railwagons with larger cargo dimensions. The new 550 tons weighing railway bridge has had a construction period of only 6 months.
The construction of Wildlands Adventure Zoo in Emmen was a large-scale and innovative project. An adventurous animal theme park with a unique and innovative character. Wagenborg Nedlift was engaged to carry out the lifting and transport work for the construction and furnishing of the park and the relocation of the animals to their brand new enclosures.
The development of the Hejre field is the largest oil and gasproject in the Danish offshore sector. The onshore oil and gas terminal in Fredericia has been extended for the receipt and treatment of this extra production.
The Green Connection is a pedestrian and bicycle bridge connecting the south of Rotterdam with the green space outside the city. The bridge is nearly 200 metres long, weighs over 600 tonnes and spans the Betuwe railway line and the A15 motorway. The transport and lifting operation of the uniquely-designed bridge presented a special challenge.
In January 2012, a lock gate weighing 90 tonnes of the lock in the picturesque village of Eefde (NL) fell down. As a result, the only access from the river IJssel to the Twentekanaal was blocked and 40 inland navigation vessels could no longer leave the Twentekanaal. A major problem for inland navigation and shippers in the Twente region, who could no longer ship their cargo.
In the summer of 2015 the deck of the Kruisvaart bridge in Utrecht (NL), a movable bridge in the centre of Utrecht, was replaced. A new composite bridge section was transported in a rather special way from the manufacturing location in Rotterdam to its final location in the heart of Utrecht.
For decades, gas has been stored in the underground gas storage locations (UGS) in Norg and Grijpskerk in the north of the Netherlands. These gas reserves are intended for extreme winter periods. Due to increasing demand the capacity of the UGS location Norg required expansion. Under the name Norg+, this project was started in 2011 and completed at the end of 2014.
