The new Eemshaven - Vierverlaten high-voltage line will see a major expansion of the Vierverlaten high-voltage substation. Six giant transformers will be installed later this year, but first the transformer fields and other installations will be constructed. A transformer cabin housing all the control technology is also being installed at each field.
Wagenborg Nedlift recently put into operation a new computer-controlled jacking system, consisting of four climbing jack boxes, each with a 600-tonne capacity. With the new jacking system, objects of up to 2400 tonnes can be lifted and lowered.
Expansion work on the nitrogen plant in Zuidbroek, Groningen, is in full swing. The nitrogen plant processes imported gas for the Dutch network. The planned expansion is expected to be completed in 2022.

The Wörsdorf rail viaduct, which runs through the idyllic town of Idstein in the state of Hesse, and is situated on the Frankfurt - Eschhofen rail line, is in urgent need of renovation.Therefore, the Wörsdorf viaduct is being replaced by a new one. The new viaduct will be slid into place this coming Easter weekend. This is a large-scale operation, one in which the Wagenborg Engineering specialists were involved from a very early stage.
'Aanpak Ring Zuid' is the project name for the large-scale conversion of Groningen's southern ring road. Groningen's rampant growth is threatening to overwhelm this road, which is the main gateway to the city. The conversion of the southern ring road will improve accessibility, traffic flow, liveability and safety. The project is scheduled for completion by 2024.
There was recently a lot of activity at the power distribution station on the Karperweg in Amsterdam. Three transformers were being transported to the station, where they were to be installed.
The new CIP building at Friesland Campina in Gerkesklooster is being constructed in the gap between existing buildings and pipe bridges. This means that the available space is extremely limited, as is the height for lifting the prefab walls of the new building into place.
