The Marconi Buitendijks project connects the Delfzijl city centre with the Wadden Sea. Silt and sand are used to create salt marshes off the Delfzijl coast, and the sea dike is being converted to a boulevard for walking and biking. A new, striking bridge connects the city with the boulevard.
Last weekend, Wagenborg Nedlift’s team of skidding specialists moved a railway viaduct of 2000(!) tons onto foundation on behalf of the new road B481n in Münster, Germany.
At the HVC processing location in Dordrecht, replacement of a sludge filtering press system had to be done. The press had a weight of 10 tons and stood on a platform in one of the processing halls. This meant there was limited lifting height and space to put the cranes in place.
Last week we witnessed a very special spectacle at Montessori-school ‘t Ronde’ in the Dutch town of Leusden: the entire roof came off! It was part of a big renovation project the school is currently undergoing.

At shipyard Ferus Smit BV in Westerbroek (NL), the ship construction team has worked hard on two ring sections on behalf of the first of two new DF tankers for shipping company Erik Thun AB from Sweden. Last week the sections were transported to the shipyard in Leer where they will be combined with the other sections that have been constructed there.
Fresenius Kabi is a global specialist in clinical nutrition and medicines. The company is currently constructing an ultra-modern production facility for medically, catheter-administered nutrition at its manufacturing site in Emmer-Compascuum. Putting the process plant in the building presented a logistical challenge and Wagenborg Nedlift’s assembly specialists were called upon for help.
Traditionally, tropical hardwood (Azobé) is used for jacking operations. However, Azobé wood is a scarce natural product and so, it is not a sustainable solution. That is why Wagenborg Nedlift started looking for a better alternative.
